The All India Chess Federation on behalf of FIDE and Commonwealth Chess Association Cordially invite your Federation to participate in the Championship to be held at New Delhi from 09th to 19th May, 2010 to be organized by Capablanca Chess Club

Venue : Clarksinn Pacific Mall, Near Anand Vihar Metro Station, Delhi. (The official host for the championship)

Note: One player can be given more than one cash prize, if he is eligible under age category. However, the player has to specify his / her respective ‘age category’ before the start of the first round.
Please note that a Tax @ 10.2% ( as per Indian income tax regulations ) will be deducted from the prize money

to be awarded to Foreign Players
Medals: Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded in Open, Seniors, Women, Under-20 (Boys and Girls), Under-18 (Boys and Girls), Under-16 (Boys and Girls), Under-14 (Boys and Girls), Under-12 (Boys and Girls) , Under-10 (Boys and Girls), Under-8 (Boys and Girls) categories. The medal winners will be referred to as Commonwealth Medallists.

No request towards waiver of entry fee will be entertained.

Entries with late fee of Rs. 2000 09th May 2010

Please note that this entry fee structure is valid only until 25th April 2010. Thereafter till 09th May 2010 the participants will have to pay Rs. 2000/- extra. Entries may be sent by DD (Delhi Cheques will also be accepted) favoring Capablanca Chess Club, payable at Delhi and posted to Mr. Bharat Singh Chauhan, C/O Hotel KC Plaza, 5588, Basant Lane, Paharganj, New Delhi (India)

Entries: Each Commonwealth country is eligible to field one man, one woman, one junior girl (Under-20), one junior boy (Under-20) player and one boy and girl each in under-8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 as official entrants. Their boarding and lodging will be provided free.
Other entrants will have to pay for the boarding and lodging at Rs.2500/-($ 60 Apprx.) per day. Please note that, the entry fee has to be paid by everyone unless qualifying for a free entry under the ‘Entry fee’ section.
Entry of Indian players: Only registered players of the All India Chess Federation are eligible to participate and the entries have to be routed through the All India Chess Federation.

Registration: All Foreign Participants and accompanying persons will have to pay registration 100 euros per head. This will include their transportation from airport and back. AICF registration fee for 2010-11 is compulsory for all Indian participants. The AICF players’ registration fee of Rs. 250/- will be accepted at the venue for the convenience of the players.

Accommodation: All foreign participants / accompanying persons are required to stay in official accommodation. Indian Players can arrange their own accommodation.

Weather: The Weather in Delhi during May is expected to be hot. The minimum / Maximum temperature will be around 25/35 Degrees Celsius.

Tournament Rules:

System of Play:
The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss System with 10 rounds.

Tie Break:
In case of a tie, the latest FIDE Rules shall come in to effect. The Cash prizes however will be shared.
